Dolphin Rules

Hi DL Dolphin Swimmers and Parents!

During our first practice, swimmers (YOU) from all age groups came up with rules for our swim team. The following list resulted after compiling all of the swimmers suggestions and rules. Although different rules were developed in each age group, all of the rules apply to the entire team. Parents please look over these rules and go over them with your swimmer (s). Swimmers please read over these rules since they will be enforced, especially since you all were the ones who came up with these fabulous “Dolphin Rules” Get excited for a GREAT swim season!

Dolphin Rules

General Pool Rules/Safety:

• No glass in the pool area
• No pushing
• Don’t wear goggles down the slide
• No chains down the slide/don’t push people down the slide

• Don’t scream
• Don’t hit/fight/use physical force on others
• No running
• No eating in the pool/no gum
• “No drowning” and no “pretend” drowning

Swim Team Practice/Meet Rules:

• Stay in your own lane

• Don’t hold onto the lane ropes/crawl over the lane ropes
• Don’t walk on the bottom/cheat
• Don’t swim in pairs
• Don’t grab onto others and/or dunk people
• No dives unless the coaches say it is time to practice diving
• In the deep end, don’t dive on top of others
• Don’t “accidentally” fall in
• Don’t purposely DQ during the meets

Being respectful:

• Pay attention and listen to each other, parents, and the coaches

• Don’t interrupt people when they are talking
• Follow directions
• Be nice
• Don’t talk back
• No bad language

Other Important Rules:

• Have fun

• Cheer for people
