Re-Zoning Near Davis Lake
City
of Charlotte Rezoning Petitions Web Pages
How
to File a Statement of Support, or Rebuttal, Regarding a Rezoning
Request
- Rezoning Petition 2008-123
We have just received notice yesterday of a proposed zoning
change to a 34.51 acre plot of land behind Davis Lake adjacent
to Hunter Auto Salvage. The public meeting is tomorrow (Monday,
Aug 4) evening at 7:30 at Independence Hill Baptist church,
and we are concerned that there will not be a large turnout
from Davis Lake residents due to the very short notice.
In case you have not received these notices, here is a summary:
David Cox Premier Properties is requesting a zoning change
from I-1 (light industrial) to I-2 (General Industrial, Conditional).
The request (http://www.charmeck.org/Departments/Planning/Rezoning/Rezoning+Petitions/2008+Petitions/2008-123.htm)
does not specify a footprint, street layout, or points of
access as the exact use for the land has not yet been determined.
For reference, Praxair and the scrap metal plant on Old Statesville
and Lakeview Roads are zoned I2. We have attached the two
letters we received.
We believe that this proposed change should be strongly protested
by Davis Lake residents as it stands to greatly affect our
property values and our quality of life. I hope that we can
count on your support and your presence at tomorrow's meeting.
We encourage individual residents
to become involved. If you have additional information to share
– please contact and keep your DLCA Board dlca@davislake.org
, the webmaster webmaster.davislake.org
and communique editor informed communique@davislake.org
Between all of us – we’ll do our best to keep all
of YOU informed!!
